Why did i make a Bible Timeline?

There are in fact many reasons but I will tell one of them here.

One day I saw a Drama documentary from the BBC (Egypt 5/6).

It is about Jean-François Champollion who used the Rosetta Stone to learn how to translating the hieroglyphs for the first time in 1798.

There is a scene in this movie where as a very clever boy he goes with the Bible in his hand and says "Now I know how old the earth is" which also became the reason why , he wanted to learn many languages, so that he could read the oldest texts in the world, and in that way find out whether the Bible was right that the earth was approx. 5500 years old at the time.

His whole life he was trying to figure out - how old is the earth?

Later he became Professor of Egyptology. He is considered the "founder and father to Egyptology".

He also used the Bible to establish the Egyptian timeline that is still used by all today, even though it may be wrong, read more here.

Jean-François Champollion

Afterwards I had seen this movie about champollion. Did I want to take on the challenge of finding out if you could really find out how old the Bible says the earth is? So that's why I made my first Bible Timeline, where I only used the Bible and nothing else, and there I came to a timeline of 4222 years BC.

I later found out that of course there are many others then Champollion and myself who have tried to make a Bible Timeline. So here are just a few of them you may know.

Flavius Josephus

AD 37–100

Martin Luther

AD 1483–1546

AD 1571-1630

AD 1643 - 1727

As you can see, they came up with different calculations and this is due to many different things like disagreement about how long the Jews were in Egypt.
But also about which of the different texts is the right one to use. etc.

Until the mid-1800s, it was still common opinion, even among scholars, that the age of the Earth was about 6,000 years,
The University of Copenhagen's Almanac stated until 1911 the number of years since the world's first creation.
It say:    After the world Creation . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .      5878
